How to win Hackathons

So first of all, get enough skills to build a project completely. The first hackathon I participated in, I wasn’t even able to build the whole thing I had planned. The good thing is that it hardly takes 2 months (if you have basic knowledge) to get to a level where you can build stuff.

Next thing is to form a good team, and it’s best if that’s a diverse team. If different team members bring different expertise, that’s already the best team.

Next step is to start participating in hackathons. Don’t choose too simple a problem statement that anyone can build, but don’t choose a problem statement you can’t build either. And if you do participate, be ready to go all in. Even if you don’t win the hackathon, the learning will be far more rewarding than any prize money.

You can find hackathons on Unstop, Devfolio, and many other sites. Also, for those hackathons having an idea submission phase, don’t just submit the PPT with your idea. Go a step ahead and add the prototype link as well.

That’s it!
